FRIDAY MAY 2 - 10PM

SATURDAY MAY 3 - 10PM
Friends, Arkansans, Rain-soaked Countrymen,

If you haven’t gotten to the Public Theatre to see any of Season III of ImprovLittleRock, what are you waiting for?  This May weekend of shows will be our second to last of the season, so now is the time to come get a taste of the only improv comedy troupe in our region.

On Friday May 2nd at 10pm, ImprovLittleRock brings you The Comedy Throwdown.  Two teams are pitted against one another in a head to head showdown of scenes, games, and songs—all improvised on the spot—from your audience suggestions.  An impartial judge scores the scenes, and the team with the best score at the end of the night is touted as champion.  Whether you’re brought on stage, or your suggestions are being shouted out to the improvisers, your participation fuels the comedy fire that makes this unscripted evening short-form improv comedy  fresh, energetic, hilarious, and charming.

At 10pm on Saturday May 3rd, ILR breaks out the long-form stick with Harold Night.  Many talk about it...some perform it...few can execute it...it’s long form improvisation made famous by the father of the Harold, Del Close of the Second City.  We take a suggestion from the audience, than for the next 70 minutes, bob, weave, re-incorporate, riff, and act out scene after scene utilizing narratives, scenes, characters, and plotlines all based on said audience suggestion.  This is fast-paced, dangerous, and exciting—a show of epic proportions, and one not to be missed for sure.

All shows take place at the Public Theatre, 616 Center Street, Downtown Little Rock.  Admission is $7 at the door.  Call 374-PLAY.  Don’t miss the second to last weekend of improv comedy in your town—ImprovLittleRock!

Also, the next episode of the ImprovLittleRock Workshops will take place on Saturday May 3rd.  Note the new time--11am to 2pm.  This workshop is the third in our series of open play workshops with members of ILR.  No experience is required.  This next episode will focus on character and the foundation for good scenework.  Cost is $20.  Please let me know if you can make it so I know how many to plan for.
