Happy Summer All!

All good things must come to end.  All great things must come to an end.  And all fantastically-amazing-and-deliriously-hilarious things must come to a celebratory spectacular finish!  And that’s how ImprovLittleRock is ending its 2007-08 campaign of comedy terror—with shows, special guests, and a double feature finale spectacular!  Four shows in three nights!

Thursday July 10th at 7.30pm brings Arkansas’ finest comedy improv troupe, ILR to the stage, featuring special guests, Armadillo Rodeo, a long-form based troupe of teen improvisers from all across Central Arkansas.  Don’t miss this family friendly, yet edgy evening of long-form and short-form improv comedy from two of the best troupes in the region!

Friday July 11th at 10pm puts ImprovLittleRock on a quest for Rock ‘n’ Roll glory in the world premiere of their newest long-form show, Rock Opera: the Rock Opera!  This show features the Public Theatre debut of Arkansas’ first comedic improv orchestra, the ILR Tasty Experience, under the musical direction of Buddy Habig.  Come see ILR and this full-band create an improvised rock and roll musical, live, before your very eyes!

All the stops will be pulled out on Saturday July 12th, as ILR performs its first Double Feature at 7pm and 10pm.  Witness the long-form and the short-form paired in a two-show cocktail of comic supremacy.  Special guests, improvised music, and your favorite ILR scenes and characters will be on hand for an evening packed with spectacle and laughs to close out the ’07-’08 season.

All shows take place at the Public Theatre, 616 Center Street, Downtown Little Rock.  Admission is $7 at the door.  Call 374-PLAY for more information.  July 4th may have passed, but the fireworks will continue onstage at the Public Theatre for ImprovLittleRock’s Season III Finale Spectacular!!!   Lame holiday puns will be kept to a minimum.

The PUBLIC Theatre, located at 616 Center Street in Little Rock, is a 66-seat performing-arts space focusing on theatre, independent film, and live music.

As its name suggests, The PUBLIC Theatre is a place where creative artists in theatre, film, and music can develop and express their ideas in an open-spirited, collaborative environment, while at the same time producing entertainment that will draw and satisfy as large an audience as possible.
